Dollars for Scholars Post Freshman and Continuing Education Awards - Fall 2023

The Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars committee is pleased to announce a combined total of $14,300 has been awarded to local post freshman and continuing education applicants. This year, each scholarship award ranged from $900 to $1,200. Congratulations to the following post freshman recipients: Jessica Acevedo, Abigail Derouard, Madie Draper, Jade Estling, Tucker Ferrier, Brinna Fish, Kendra Humeniuk, Rachel Johnson, Gabe Krause, Kajun Krause, Destiny Storbeck, Riley Stromlund and Sophia Walton. Congratulations to Lisa Olson as the recipient of a continuing education award. PHONE-A-THON 2022
A HUGE thank you to our community & to the Minnesota Honor Society Students for their generous support during our annual Phone-A-Thon on October 29, 2022. All of the money raised stays in our community supporting the graduating seniors as well as continuing education for Lake of the Woods residents

Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars awarded eight Post-Freshman Scholarships in 2021. 
Each recipient was awarded $1,000.

Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars awarded 39 Scholarships totaling $32,300 to 14 graduates from Lake of the Woods High School Class of 2021.
Each recipient was awarded at least $2,000. 

2018 Post-Freshman and Continuing Education Scholarships Applications Open June 22 - July 22, 2018

The Lake of the Woods Chapter of Dollars for Scholars is now accepting applications for Post-Freshman and Continuing Education scholarships.
Applicants for the Post-Freshman Scholarships must be graduates of Lake of the Woods High School, who have completed at least one year of post secondary education and are enrolled at a college for the 2018 fall semester. 
Applicants for the Continuing Education Scholarships must be residents of Lake of the Woods County, who are pursing continuing education courses.

2018 Senior Scholarship
Lake of the Wood High School Seniors can now apply for the Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars Senior Scholarships.  Applications are due on or before April 1, 2018.

Donations from this event represent a large portion of the scholarship funds presented at Lake of the Woods High School graduation each year. A special thanks to ANI Pharmaceuticals for sponsoring the event and Lake of the Woods High School National Honor Society students for making the calls.

It is time to apply for the Lake of the Woods Dollars For Scholars® Post-Freshman and Continuing Education Scholarships, applications are available starting on June 22 and are due by July 22, 2016.

Donation will support scholarships for local students

Each year, Chrissy Draper and Cyndi Heibel coordinate the Got Shoes 5K Fun Run for the Back Home Days celebration in Williams, Minn. This year's race proceeds were donated to Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars®, A Program of Scholarship America® and will provide two scholarships to the Lake of the Woods High School Class of 2016. The scholarships will be named in memory of Karlyn Joy (Lalli) Hawks, who was a 1996 graduate of Lake of the Woods High School.

Lake of the Woods Dollars for Scholars® is a nonprofit foundation that supports academic success in our community.
